DiSHEd is an Erasmus+ funded project that aims to digitally upskill VET educators using the DigCompEdu Framework to enable them to digitally transform food and health related programmes to meet sustainable food practice and labour force needs.

About

This project aims to digitally upskill VET educators using the DigCompEdu Framework to enable them to digitally transform food and health related programmes to meet sustainable food practice and labour force needs.

The main objectives of the project are to:

  1. Identify the labour market needs and food sustainability best practises within the food and health sector across the partner countries
  2. Evaluate digital competency training needs of food and health VET educators across Europe
  3. Digitally upskill food and health VET educators in line with the DigiCompEdu framework
  4. Develop and Implement training for VET educators on adapting food and health curricula to incorporate food sustainability and digital work-based competences.

Brief Overview of Project Work Packages

The project will will achieve the project outputs through the development of three key Work Packages, which will provide the professional development of VET educators and will ultimately enable them to digitally transform food and health related programmes.

There are 3 work packages which are being developed as part of the project are:

  • Work Package 1 (WP1) – Project Management
  • Work Package 2 (WP2) – Adapting VET Food and Health Programmes to meet changing labour market needs in a digital environment
  • Work Package 3 (WP3) – Developing Digital Competence – Upskilling of VET Educators


In order to achieve the project objectives the following results will be developed:

  • R1: Report on employers’ needs in the current labour market
  • R2: Infographic on Food Industry’s sustainable priorities
  • R3: List of job opportunities
  • R4: Case studies of food sustainable practices across partner countries
  • R5: VET educator’s digital competency training needs identified
  • R6: Digital booklet providing specialised digital skills for VET educators to use with their learners
  • R7: Report on current digital and sustainability competency teaching practices in food and health curricula across Europe
  • R8: Best practice and learnings from Covid shared and informing training guide
  • R9: Development of training guide

Partners

The Atlantic Technological University (ATU) Galway, Ireland is leading the project and working in partnership with The Polish Farm Advisory and Training Centre (PFA), in Poland, Kaunas Food Industry and Trade Training Centre, in Lithuania and The University of Cyprus.
